Returns and Exchanges
All item return, exchange or warranty requests must be made within 30 days of the invoice date, after 30 days we cannot accept returns. Not all items can be returned. If requesting a return/refund, items must be received in new, reusable condition and in the original packaging, with all manuals, user guides, accessories, documents, etc. Items that have been installed, used, damaged, modified, trimmed, etc. do not qualify to be returned.
Items must be able to be resold as new. Software and electronic media must be returned in unopened and original packaging to be returned. For all items that are defective, damaged or have shortages, a claim must be made within 72 hours of the invoice receipt. AIE reserves the right to refuse returns and exchanges.
A Warranty, Return & Exchanges Request form must be completed along with a copy of the original invoice for all returns, refunds, and exchanges. To process the return, exchange or warranty the above must be provided and an inspection of the condition of the item will be performed to determine refund/exchange. There will be a restocking fee of 25% associated with all return items. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable and customers are responsible for additional shipping costs to ship back to us.
Special Order items are non-refundable. Modifications may be available for Special Order & made to order items for an additional cost. AIE has the right to determine which items are Special Order. If a refund is approved it will be issued in the same payment method the order was placed with.
If a unit is removed from an aircraft and found to meet all of the manufacturers test specifications, the customer will be responsible for the bench test and re-certification charges
Warranty
New units will be determined by manufacture warranty policy. Please call 951-677-0085 to determine if your unit meets the manufactures warranty requirements. Units that have been refurbished or repaired by AIE, Inc. have a 90-day warranty from shipment date. Please fill out the Warranty, Return & Exchanges Request Form which is linked below and send it with your unit.
Warranties will be terminated for units that have been subjected to misuse, neglect, or contamination, damaged by accident, rendered defective by improper storage, installation, removal, operation, or maintenance by aircraft or aircraft wiring. Any component received with the warranty seals removed, repair or alteration at a place other than AIE Inc. voids the warranty.
If your unit is outside of the warranty period, or not covered for any other reason, out of warranty repair or replacement, options may still exist.
Repairs
AIE, Inc. repair shop analyze, troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls a variety of equipment. Note that the minimum evaluation fee is $290 for all bench repairs. In some cases, to troubleshoot a broken unit, AIE, Inc. will need to repair some components in the unit to verify the main problem. If the customer refuses the estimate for the main repair, AIE, Inc. will still have to charge for the parts and labor invested to arrive at a meaningful “estimate”.
The warranty period is 90 days from the date the repair is complete. This warranty only covers the parts and labor used to fix the issue that was repaired — it does not apply to other, unrelated failures during this period. The warranty is void if the unit shows abuse, alternations, broken seals, improper installation or improper packaging for shipment. In the event, an item is sent in for repair and no fault is found with the unit the customer will be responsible for the bench test and re-certification charges. If the unit is beyond economical repair, the inspection fee would still apply.
